When the Going is Rough, Keep Climbing

When the going is rough, keep going. As a person walks through life's days, one at a time, the going will get hard at times. Sometimes it seems as though it is everything happening at once. That builds the strength and the stamina when a person meets difficulties. My life right now is a matter of difficulties in which I have no control over, yet I see God's hand in it all. He is my Shepherd. It is in Christ - my Savior - that I have deep communion moment by moment, and with His blood covering my sin I know that I am God's child, and that someday I will see His face. Oh what a blessed prospect. As I look over my circumstances I know I have many blessings. I have a roof over my head, and food in my cupboard, a bed to sleep on, and my Bible and books to study and read. Then add to that the comfort of a small apartment in which to live. What are my difficulties? These days I am recuperating from a partial Hip replacement on my left leg and it it not easy for me to get around. I have a walker which is my mobility for a while. When I can, I practice using a cane. Then there are the factors of changing seasons - I have a very bad sore throat which caused congestion and now I am told all I am to do is "take care of yourself and rest" So I have hopes of getting better soon. Digging in to the Word of God is a pleasure but it is also hard work. A person has to choose to take the time to dig into the Word of God the Bible. It is a treasure store for us. Its foundations are our compass and our light. Matthew 21.22 Prayer is what we need to practice. As we walk with God, we are not alone. He has given us so many examples in the Bible such as Abel, Enoch and Abraham. He has given us the Light of his Spirit to dwell within us. We ought to heed His call, and abide in Him, and let His words abide in us. John 15.7
